Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

Purphex Music ("Purphex", "we") makes a free music studio, converter and sound library for Windows, and this website, where you create an account and download the app. This page explains what we keep about you and why.

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you sign up with one or if Discord, Google, Microsoft or GitHub shares it with us when you use them to sign in.
  • Your sign-in details: a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password, if you set one; the public part of any passkey you add; the ID and display name of any Discord, Google, Microsoft or GitHub account you connect; and, if you turn on two-step verification, the secret for your authenticator app and scrambled recovery codes.
  • Community content, only if you use it: the songs you share (the audio file, title, description and tags), your comments and your likes, and the display name you choose. Other signed-in members can see and play shared songs and read comments. Nobody who is not signed in can.
  • Download activity: how many times your account downloaded the app, and when.
  • Technical data: your network address is used briefly (in memory only) to slow down repeated wrong passwords and fake sign-ups.

We do not collect your music, your projects or what you convert in the app: it does its work on your own computer. The only audio we keep is a song you choose to share in the community.

What we use it for

Only to run your account: signing you in, keeping your account secure, letting you download the app, and sending a password-reset email if you ask for one. We do not sell your data, we do not show advertising, and we do not share your information with anyone for marketing.

Sign in with Google, Discord, Microsoft or GitHub

If you choose one of these, we only receive your basic profile: an account ID, your name, and your email address if the provider shares it. We never receive your password for that service, and we cannot see anything else in that account.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to complete a sign-in safely. They are not used for tracking or advertising.

Where it is kept and for how long

Account information is stored on our hosting provider's servers and kept until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page; this removes your details from our records.

Your choices

You can change your display name, password, passkeys and connected accounts, turn two-step verification on or off, delete any song or comment of yours, and delete your account from the Settings page. Deleting your account also deletes your songs, comments and likes. To ask about your data, You can contact us through the Purphex Music community channels.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
